Pipe Up in Portrush for the Championships
An entertaining and cultural extravaganza awaits visitors to Portrush on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th August as the Borough of Coleraine welcomes members of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association to compete in the North West Pipe Band Championships.
Coleraine Borough Council continues to work alongside Causeway Chamber of Commerce to bring this extremely successful event to the seaside town.
The programme this year includes a Highland Dancing competition featuring a strong international field of competitors; as over 50 bands will participate in the Pipe Band Championships on Saturday and the weekend will conclude with a colourful parade throughout Portrush.
The event will commence on Friday 17th August in St Patricks Hall, Causeway Street, Portrush with the Scottish Highland Dancing competition from 12 noon until 5pm. Saturday 18th August will welcome the North West Pipe Band championship at Ramore Head, Portrush.
Spectators should be aware that the competition has moved from its original outdoor location on Kerr Street Green to St Patrick's Hall on Causeway Street on Friday 17th August.
