As festivals and events return, insurance should be a key consideration

Thousands of football fans descended on Belfast recently for the European Super Cup final in the same week Tom Jones entertained music lovers at the city’s Custom House Square.

‘It’s Not Unusual’ for large scale music gigs and sports matches to be taking place during the summer months in Northern Ireland, but after the 18 months we have all just experienced these events seemed even more special.

Chelsea fans celebrated a famous victory in the showpiece Super Cup final but the sight of 13,000 fans at a stadium gave everyone a reason to cheer.

This month, Belsonic returned to the delight of local music fans and we also celebrate the ‘Green Green Grass of Home’ at Northern Ireland’s largest agricultural show, the Balmoral Show, after both events were cancelled last year.

However, we know we are not out of the woods just yet and we must remain vigilant against this terrible pandemic, but seeing events, both major and community-led, return is such a welcome development.

Across the country community events and festivals are returning and with Stormont giving the go ahead for conference halls and exhibitions to return there are definite signs of more normal times.

A quick search on Google reveals plans for a wide range of events planned for the rest of the year. These include everything from community barbecues to concerts featuring world famous stars.

For organisers of these events, no matter the size, we would recommend considering event insurance.

We can tailor a policy to suit the needs of your event. Policies can include public and employer liability as well as cover for any equipment used in connection with the event

As Northern Ireland’s largest insurance broker,* our dedicated team of experts take the time to understand your needs. We will help you assess any additional elements of cover you may need, so you have tailored packages that safeguard you.

Tailored policies can provide cover for exhibitors, single events or multi event requirements, providing the organiser with peace of mind allowing them to focus on welcoming visitors back to their festival or event.

As a broker, our team search and compare quotes from our large panel of insurers so we can offer customers our best deal.

Please note for anyone attending an event, we would urge you to adhere to the current Covid-19 restrictions and to also follow any rules put in place by event organisers to keep people safe.
