NI SMART: Asymptomatic Testing Programme Small business or organisations with 15 or less employees and people who work from home but are coming into contact with people outside of their household or COVID bubble in the course of their business can access rapid LFD tests.

From today (Monday 26th April) at 3pm -7.30pm (7 days a week) one business representative can collect 14 tests from the Covid test centre located at carpark 4 in Ulster University Coleraine.

In Northern Ireland small businesses and people working from home can access testing. Evidence has shown that people infected with COVID-19 can have no symptoms and still transmit the virus to others without being aware. It is important that we take steps to reduce the risk of transmission by identifying those who may not know they have the virus.

Asymptomatic testing seeks to identify these individuals quickly, and ensure that they and their close contacts can self-isolate. This approach helps to break chains of transmission in the workforce and beyond and is known as “test to find”.

Workforce asymptomatic testing is in addition to, and does not replace, a range of other measures in place in wider society, such as social distancing, hand hygiene and face coverings.
