CAUSEWAY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CELEBRATE LOCAL BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENTS WITH INAUGURAL ‘PEOPLE AWARDS’
Published on:November 14, 2022

The Causeway Chamber of Commerce hosted their first CAUSEWAY COAST & GLENS PEOPLE AWARDS, supported by Principal sponsor, The Electric Storage Company.

Recognising the business acumen in the borough, the commitment and the leadership of the local businesses, the Chamber launched fourteen new awards, presented by Sarah Travers and the Chamber’s President, Anne Marie McGoldrick.  The event was held in the Lodge Hotel Coleraine on Thursday evening, the town’s most central hotel.

Anne-Marie said, “Causeway Coast and Glens People Awards provide an insight into the wealth of business talent and success, across all sectors of this region. We have much to be proud of and this year will be no exception. The 14 new award categories have been carefully selected to reflect the changing dynamic of our borough and our working environment.

“These Awards are an excellent opportunity to really celebrate and recognise our most valuable resource – our people. If it wasn’t for their commitment and work ethos, and of course the dedication and support from the employers, it has driven them to succeed through the last couple of difficult years.

Our people and businesses need a fully functioning government: Westminster, Stormont and here in Causeway Coast and Glens. We will continue to engage at every level with ministers and local representatives to emphasise the challenges facing our businesses and ask them to urgently engage with us. We ask our Assembly to get back to doing the job in hand – supporting the people of Northern Ireland to develop our economy and improving the health and well-being of those who live here.

“We want to share good news stories and promote the quality roles and career paths available in the Causeway Coast & Glens”.  The fourteen categories include –

Apprentice of the Year; Graduate of the Year; Workplace Health and Well being Initiative; Best Working Environment; Next Generation Initiative; Best Company Rewards Scheme; Employer for the Future; Corporate Social Responsibility Award; Small Team of the Year; Team of the Year; Employer of the Year; Employee of the Year; Young Leader of the Year; and Leader of the Year.

“The people awards enables us to recognise the very best of people and business from across our region and highlight the positive contribution that so very many businesses in the Causeway Chamber make to the economy, our environment and to our society.

“The Chamber has continued to expand its membership across the Causeway Coast and Glens from sole traders to multinational companies across all sectors now totalling more than 6,000 employees. We continue to help businesses grow their network, expand their knowledge, and develop their influence.

“Anne-Marie continued, the number of applicants has been heart-warming, and I am elated that the limited tickets sold out in record time, especially in the current financial climate. Guests celebrated with their own colleagues and friends, which was a great experience to be part of.  As President of the Causeway Chamber of Commerce, it was vital we show support and recognise the talent in our borough, we celebrated with all of the finalists and of course the winners who were presented with an award in recognition of their dedication, hard work and achievements to local industry.

“This is just the start of what we aim deliver as part of our programme of events while we aim to broadcast the wealth of knowledge and expertise available in our area”.  For more information on the Causeway Chamber of Commerce go to… @causewaychamber.com
