Chamber Member donations fund school fees for 21 boys and girls in Malawi
Published on:May 10, 2022

Dear Member,

I am grateful for this opportunity to update you on how your generous donations at the Causeway Chamber Business Awards dinner in 2021 have been used and also to seek your further help in getting surplus laptops and tablets to young people in Zomba.

Alongside the various development projects which ZAP promotes in local communities, we also recognise the importance of giving young people the opportunity to gain an education and thus help to break the poverty cycle in families. Unfortunately, secondary education is not free in Malawi so many families cannot meet the cost of school fees.

This year, with the Chamber donations, we have been able fund school fees for 21 boys and girls who otherwise would have missed out on secondary education. I hope you agree that your donations are being put to good use with life-changing potential for these young people.

As part of our work with schools, colleges and universities we also see how the lack of affordable IT equipment is inhibiting many students so this year we are launching a major effort to source surplus laptops or tablets for shipping to Malawi on our regular containers. So if your business (or your family and friends) has updated your hardware recently or is planning to do so in the near future, we would be delighted to receive your old items. Simply email me on wavellpsm@gmail.com or give me a call on 07872051985 and I will arrange a pick-up.

Thanks so much in anticipation,
