We are delighted to welcome Kieran Kennedy, Managing Director, O’Neills Irish International Sports Company Limited
Kieran Kennedy joined O’Neills in 1979 and became Managing Director in 1988. Under Kieran’s leadership, O’Neills has grown from 30 staff when it first opened in Strabane in the mid-1970’s to over 700 today. This growth has included major investment in new production facilities in Strabane. Kieran has a deep understanding of textile manufacturing and a track record of driving significant improvements in product innovation, customer service, IT and business transformation.
Kieran joined O’Neills after leaving school at 16 years old, throughout his career has completed several business focused qualifications including the Business Growth Programme run by Invest NI and the Critical Leadership Programme at Queens University Belfast. Kieran recently completed the the Leadership 4 Growth programme supported by Invest NI with modules in New York and Barcelona.
Kieran is a member of Manufacturing NI, a key body representing manufacturers in Northern Ireland.
Kieran is also Chairman of Strabane Training Services (STS), a local community-based training provider. STS employs 25 staff and has 225 young people from socially deprived backgrounds participating in a range of training programmes.
Kieran recently joined the Board of Strabane BID Company, whose main objectives are to assist local businesses in Strabane to raise funds to improve their town and trading environment.
Our Annual President's dinner will be supporting Zomba Action Project (ZAP)
ZAP is a registered charity established in March 2003 by Coleraine Borough Council and now supported by Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council.
ZAP raises and manages funds for approved projects to help disadvantaged people in Zomba, Malawi and in doing so helps give the Causeway Coast & Glens community an increased world vision.
