Dougies Goodies began in 1983 with a young lad called Douglas (Dougie) putting on an apron for the first time and diving headfirst into the world of baking as an apprentice. As Dougie’s talents began to rise, he was offered the chance to take the reins of his very own bakery in Ballymena. As the aroma of Dougies bakes and cakes spread throughout the local area what began as a “small bakery” soon transformed into a buzzing coffee and bakehouse.

 

In 2022, Frank Warwick (a loyal customer of Dougies Goodies for many years) visited the bakery to order his wife Georgina a birthday cake. Six weeks later, Frank and Georgina acquired Dougies Goodies.

With the help of a continually expanding team, Frank and Georgina have been whisking up fresh ideas while ensuring the original Dougies Goodies recipes remain unchanged. Now located at 17-19 Church Street Ballymena, Dougies Goodies offers a wide variety of hot drinks, meal deals alongside their renowned pastries and cakes.

 

Individuality is the key to their continued success, no one does it like Dougies! The methods of baking used to create the unique range of products cannot be matched in terms of taste and quality. Dougie and Christine still work behind the scenes to ensure customers continue to get the same Dougies Goodies quality they’ve been used to. Alongside the products, their bright and vibrant branding continues to set them apart wherever they go.
