Coleraine firm, Armstrong Medical is investing £5,000,000.00 in an expansion plan that will create 25 jobs in a new logistical warehouse and manufacturing facility at its Wattstown Business Park site. Plans have been lodged with Causeway Coast and Glens Council for this project.
The Company, founded in 1984 and employing 140 staff is regarded as a genuine home-grown success story. It is in a significant growth stage as it continues manufacturing and distributing medical devices from its base to 63 different countries world-wide.
Last year it turned over almost £11.75m and provided over £4m in wages into the local community.
Previous investment over the past 2 years in new product development extending its respiratory range in both adults and neonatal has positioned the Company for future growth.
Corporate commercial partnerships are becoming critical in growth of sales through extensive market entry points. The Company’s successful recent partnership with GE Healthcare has had a very positive impact in both manufacturing and product development.
“With GE Healthcare being the largest manufacturer in the world of anaesthetic machines, we are delighted that they have verified our product Amsorb Plus for use with their machines. Every new GE anaesthetic machine throughout the world is now being supplied with a case of Amsorb Plus, Company Chairman John Armstrong said.”
