B4B to deliver high speed broadband to Roe Valley Business Park
Small businesses located in Roe Valley Enterprises in Aghanloo Industrial Estate, Limavady can look forward to faster broadband speeds following a new partnership arrangement with B4B Telecoms, a telecommunications provider which specialises in rolling out tailored broadband solutions to local businesses. B4B and Roe Valley Enterprises have agreed on an ambitious plan to deliver a dedicated ‘Fibre To The Premises’ solution to companies within the park.
Up to now the broadband speed in the estate is stalled at around 2 megabytes per second (mps) download. Other businesses locally have been able to get faster broadband speeds, putting Roe Valley Enterprises’ tenants at a competitive disadvantage. More than 25 businesses in the Estate came together to campaign for increased broadband speed and have now finally been able to sign up for the new service.
Martin Devlin, Chief Executive of Roe Valley Enterprises asked B4B to look at the issue.
“Fast broadband speed is now effectively a utility service, as vital to small businesses as electricity and water. Unfortunately businesses in some parts of the North West had been left behind. Working with B4B we identified sufficient numbers of tenant companies who needed faster broadband and we went down the route of the Rural Broadband Voucher Scheme which opened up new possibilities. The result is that we will soon have a broadband service which is one step further than Fibre to the Cabinet and that is Fibre to the Premises.
“We are delighted with this outcome.”
Tommy O’Hagan from B4B said,
“The Rural Broadband Voucher Scheme was ideal for Roe Valley Enterprises. Twenty five businesses in the estate indicated their willingness to sign up to the scheme and that gave us the opening to explore the Fibre to the Premises broadband solution. This means the estate now will have access to 1GBps services, with many tenants choosing to avail of the 100Mbps download. Those speeds far surpass those available under the existing network and this represent a huge leap forward for these businesses.
“Roe Valley Enterprises will soon have an effective broadband solution which is effectively ‘future proofed.’ The business park is no longer reliant on BT to decide when they can upgrade their internet.
“We have delivered a solution which works for everyone.”
