Get Ready for Brexit!
As the date for EU Exit draws closer I thought it would be helpful to update Business Liaison Group members on progress to date and let you know of Invest NI’s further plans to support Northern Ireland businesses to prepare.
The first phase of Invest NI’s “Get Ready for Brexit” campaign was primarily targeted at the Agency’s customer base and included:-
A Get Ready for Brexit Online Assessment Tool to help businesses assess how well prepared they are for Brexit.
A new Brexit Preparation Grant offering financial support to help businesses prepare for the changes as a result of Brexit.
Get Ready for Brexit Advice Clinics affording customers the opportunity to meet on a one-to-one basis with specialist advisors. To date these specialists have delivered 135 advice sessions to customers, providing insights into strategic sourcing for Brexit; people movement and immigration; transport & logistics matters and customs, tariffs & taxation issues. Further Brexit advice clinics will be delivered on a regional basis over the coming weeks in Coleraine, Belfast, Armagh and Omagh, with over 430 individual appointments booked to date.
In an effort to support all Northern Ireland businesses, Invest NI has also delivered:
Get Ready for Brexit Advice Workshops. 460 business representatives attended workshops in Templepatrick, Omagh and Belfast on the 12th, 13th and 14th February 2019 respectively. Further regional workshops are planned for March 2019.
A dedicated Get Ready for Brexit website to provide businesses with a one-stop resource of Brexit features, and information and guides categorised under seven key business themes [[www.investni.com/get-ready-for-brexit.html]www.investni.com/get-ready-for-brexit.html ].
Invest NI is committed to ensuring that the range of advisory supports, tool-kits and financial supports available to help Northern Ireland businesses to prepare and navigate their way through Brexit continues to evolve as the potential impacts emerge. In line with this commitment, Invest NI has refined the Get Ready for Brexit Assessment Tool to allow all businesses to self-assess and identify key areas of focus. Businesses will be pointed to additional online support on sites like Invest NI’s Get Ready for Brexit microsite,
In order to raise awareness of the supports available to help Northern Ireland businesses to take preparatory actions, Invest NI is launching a Get Ready for Brexit campaign which is scheduled to go live on Monday 18th February. This campaign will promote the:
Get Ready for Brexit website and the information and support under 7 key themes: business strategy, innovation, legal & regulatory, operations, sales & marketing, people and management, and finance.
Get Ready for Brexit Assessment Tool, available to the wider business base and Invest NI customers.
