Irish Energy Investments Increase Presence in Northern Ireland
Irish Energy Investments Limited (IEI), the company that owns RiverRidge Recycling, has announced the acquisition of Natural World Products (NWP) general waste collection and treatment assets for an undisclosed amount.
Since its inception in 1989, NWP has built up a strong presence in the waste sector locally. It is Northern Ireland’s leading exporter of engineered Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) to continental Europe, a service that
has greatly assisted many local authorities in Northern Ireland to meet their landfill diversion targets.
Coleraine Skip Hire and Recycling Limited, trading as RiverRidge Recycling, has over the past four years developed a strong working relationship with NWP and today’s announcement is seen as a grouping of complimentary business units.
A representative of IEI said, “The acquisition of NWP brings in-house a number of activities which RiverRidge Recycling had previously outsourced to NWP. We believe we are buying a market leader with an impeccable reputation. The group is now in a position to offer all of its commercial and local authority customers the most comprehensive and progressive waste management service available in Northern Ireland today.”
IEI stated that there will be no job losses as part of the acquisition. NWP’s organic waste treatment assets have not been included in the transaction.
