Local optometrist's shortlisted for 2 national awards

A Portrush based optometrist’s practice has been shortlisted for 2 prestigious national awards. i care opticians Portrush has been announced as one of three finalists in 2 categories Practice of the Year andYoung Practice of the Year in the AOP Awards, which is run by the Association of Optometrists (AOP).
Stephen Vandevyver who is the owner of i care opticians said he was delighted they had made it to the shortlist in both categories, which are sponsored by Scope Ophthalmics and Cerium Visual Technologies respectively.
Commenting on their success, Stephen Vandevyver said:
“We started in April 2014 and it has been a joy or serve people from across Northern Ireland. We feel so humbled and privileged to be shortlisted as one of the top 3 in the UK. We are also very excited about the prospect of winning. So come on Northern Ireland vote for us!”
The Awards, now in its sixth year, recognises the highest levels of achievement in UK optics. The Practice of the Year accolade celebrates practices which engage in educating patients; show a flair for products and services; and who place an emphasis on looking after every patient on an individual level.
The Young Practice of the Year accolade celebrates practices, established in the last five years, who having filled a need in the community also demonstrate drive and flair in establishing, growing and retaining a strong customer base.
AOP Chief Executive, Henrietta Alderman, said the Awards is
“about celebrating the talent and expertise of practitioners who contribute so much to the public and profession”. She added: “this year we have seen some remarkable entrees who demonstrate real commitment and skill in delivering for patients as well as playing an important role in the optical community. We are looking forward to giving them the recognition they deserve.”
