Managing in the 2016 Economy
A first of its kind event was held at Ulster University in Coleraine on 25 May 2016 organised by the Chartered Management Institute, Ulster University Business School and Causeway Chamber with key sponsorship from key local stakeholders (Causeway Enterprise Agency, Causeway Coast and Glens Council, and InvestNI).Taking on board the recent CMI report
‘The Future Forecast for 2016’, this event invited all types and sizes of businesses in the North Coast of Northern Ireland to discuss the challenges of managing in the 2016 economy.
To set the economic context for the event, the Associate Director of the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre, Gareth Hetherington presented expert insight into the facts and figures of the economic climate for 2016 at a global, national and level. But, the event proved more than a one way conversation. To ensure local stakeholders heard the voice of business managers, a speed networking session followed, providing lively and valuable discussion on the challenges as well as opportunities for business in the region.
60 local business managers and stakeholders attended the event, making it one of the most successful CMI regional events held in Northern Ireland. The feedback to CMI by delegates attending the event was very positive with majority of delegates encouraging the organisers to run this as an annual event in the region!
