Preferred Options Paper - Chamber of Commerce Consultation
Updated: Aug 22, 2018
The Plan provides an opportunity to develop a new land use planning framework specific to the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area, balancing the development needs of the Borough with the protection of our built and natural heritage assets.
During the Plan preparation the Council will produce three separate documents, each one accompanied by a public consultation exercise. The first consultation, seeking comment on issues of strategic importance, opened on 26th June 2018 for a period of 12 weeks - the Local Development Plan (LDP) Preferred Options Paper (‘POP’).
The POP identifies what the Council considers to be the main strategic land use planning issues affecting this Borough, and it outlines a range of possible options to address these, including the Council’s “preferred options”.
Meaningful early engagement in the Plan process is key to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to help shape the Borough. The Council has been working closely with key government departments and stakeholders in the Plan preparation. We are keen to reach as many people as possible during our public consultations.
To facilitate this engagement Causeway Chamber members are invited to attend a meeting with Council planning officials on:
Date: Wednesday 12th September 2018
Location: The Shiels Room, Ballymoney Town Hall, 1 Townhead St, Ballymoney BT53 6BE
The POP and associated documents are available to view online in advance of the meeting at:
The Council really looks forward to working with you and hearing your views on how we can best address the issues facing the Borough.
The 12 week public consultation period will end at 5.00pm on Friday 21st September 2018.
Comments received at the meeting and during the 12 week public consultation will be taken into account in the preparation of the next Plan document – The Draft Plan Strategy.
